Cours des Noues

The aim of this project was to transform the site of a printing shop on rue de la Cour-des-Noues in Paris 19th into a hotel with a variety of services (catering, coworking, sports, etc.) to complement the residential offer.

The architectural project has opted for typological continuity, preserving the existing building as much as possible and increasing its potential through innovative structural and functional solutions, particularly from the point of view of its carbon footprint. The deliberate choice of "low tech" materials and systems was thus preferred in order to gently confirm the suggestion that the concrete of the existing buildings would be preserved, the elevations would be built using timber exoskeleton structures, the interior spaces would be designed without air-conditioning but ventilated in the most natural way possible (climatic wells, cool patio, fans, etc.), green eco-systems would be implanted at the heart of the system by taking advantage of a patio under the skylight "stripped" of its glass... all features working towards the implementation of an ecolabel charter, at the same time as they contribute to the wellbeing of users of the site.
